General History and Knowledge

Upon the sands of Ulth'telorn, also known as the desert of the Magi, wanders the banished race of the Llith. They are known to most as half-demons, of many races, nomadic and independent.

Legends tell that the Llith are very intelligent creatures, enjoying the thrill of manipulation over straightforward violence. They are often known as deceivers, manipulators and underhanders. Unlike the half-demons they are often mistaken for, who thrive off first hand destruction, Llith find more satisfaction in destroying something from the inside. Known for their sheer cunning and slyness, stories often tell that when the twelve Llith die they will serve Raekhan as the generals of his armies, should he ever have need to create them.

They were once humans, elves and many other aspiring races of Caenyr, who devoted their lives to Jaerik, the god of knowledge and curiosity. They were twelve scholars of Jaerik, travelling the lands to learn of arcane knowledge in the times when The Watcher walked the mortal path. When the gods returned to power after imprisonment and The Watcher slowly clambered back into his original power, he offered immortality and the wonder of vast knowledge under his strict supervision to his devoted. As expected they accepted, and were giving strict warning not to study his personal, forbidden archives. His personal archives was where he stored all information he felt most prized and sensitive, and he was very fond and selfish of it.

There was a time of harmony when all of his followers abided by this important yet ever so simple rule, but a time came when one individual was not satisfied with the generosity Jaerik had shown him. This certain individual secretly ventured into the vaults of The Watcher, studying his archives for a time. When he was inevitably discovered the wrath of Jaerik was greater than any had recorded before. He sent every one of his chosen scholars to the burning desert of Ulth’telorn as mortals. They cursed the name of Jaerik, and lived in solitude for a time, their anger growing in their desert imprisonment. Raekhan, The Seething Hatred, found interest in the twelve scholars and decided twist and torture the scholars, shaping them into individual demon-like forms, if only for his own amusement. Their new bodies were partly their own, but infused within their bodies and souls was Raekhan’s seething hatred. Raekhan had often looked upon the half-demon species and was pleased, intrigued with their rage and hate for anything and everything. He took all of the common traits of the demon, and embedded them in the scholar’s skin. These common attributes were horns and reddened skin, sharp features and fast growing hair, fingernails and toenails. He embedded in each the four afflictions of the demon: rage, hate, lust and thirst. He stripped them of their immortality but in turn ceased their ageing, so they might live and grow in strength and intelligence until he returned for them. They were eventually bent to his worship, giving him praise for the affliction he bestowed upon them but swearing hatred to Jaerik. Raekhan then left these tortured souls on their own, letting them roam in the desert of the Magi. They stayed there for many years, protecting each other as family, surviving the harsh sun and sands of Ulthtelorn. The time the gods were imprisoned came and went, and the Llith remained as nomads for that period of time, letting their anger build. But a time came when most Llith departed, leaving for distant lands. The remainder continued to wander the desert land until all trace was lost of them.

The demonic strand in each twelve of the scholars is different, and although each scholar has demon-like characteristics there is one unique characteristic that sets them apart from each other. Five Llith have been identified to the date of this record: Kzarn, a once human Llith with an unusually disfigured hand who died in a pit fight across the seas. Altimasen, an elven Llith with a horrendous disfigurement on his right cheek and forehead, froze to death under the ice of the frozen north, hiding from hunters. Toriq, an unusually large orcish Llith bearing long spines down his back died from one hundred and thirteen accounted arrows in a lone assault on Chail Anden. Callique, a dwarven Llith with a demonic tail and exceedingly long horns could not swim. And the last recorded Llith was Lillian, a human Llith with disfigured, demonic eyes and blemished skeletal structure is currently incarcerated in the dungeon of the King's Royal Lancers.

As far as most know, there are still seven Llith alive and wandering the earth, thirsty for knowledge and power, driven by the madness of demonic rage. Rumors tell of legends, and legends whisper that the Llith will reunite under Raekhan’s will, and lead the armies of hate upon the world. The texts stating this have long since been burned for seemingly blasphemous stories and beliefs, but the word is still spread. Rumors also spread about Raekhan creating more than twelve Llith, either impatient with their progression or simply to put his plans into action sooner, if ever the need arose. Some tell stories of the Llith to their children, ignorantly telling that they are the foulest of all demon-kind. A Llith would typically be offended by this, and probably take severe action against the person/s who made the assumption.

Physical Appearance

Llith can be any of the standard NWN races.

Recommended Classes

Monk, Blackguard, Fighter, Barbarian, Sorcerer, Wizard, Rouge.

Alignment

Lawful or Neutral Evil. The options of Chaotic Neutral and Evil are also available, but extremely unlikely.

All Llith have the prerequisite of worshipping Raekhan. It is a MUST, other gods may be worshipped on the side but Raekhan must remain prominent.

The Llith are simply a sub race of Caenyr, therefore there are no non-RP special abilities given with the species selection.

(Llith are no longer a playable race )
