Flet Ra (Half-Elf Monk of Shavista)

Flet Ra was a quietly spoken half-elf who let his actions speak for him. He joined the Keepers some 250 years ago. His life had already lead him into service of Shavista, prior to meeting the Keepers and joining them. Little is known of him prior to his becoming a Keeper, but legend has it that he was extremely uneducated, and had often been taken advantage of prior to giving up his life in service of his God - his focus then became to protect the poor and the weak whilst bringing people to understand and worship Shavista. Flet rose to the position of Grand Master within the Keepers.

Finally he was slain during a retreat he held every 5 years in the icy wastelands to the north. He was alone with a learner in the mountains, when attacked by a hunting party of frost giants. The learner escaped to tell the tale of how the Grand Master had killed 8 of them and allowed him to escape before being caught by falling snow, and then decapitated by the mightiest of the giants.

Flet is best remembered for his many journeys to the outlying small communities where he would spend much time aiding where he could best help the people.

On one of these journeys it is said he saved a small hamlet from a goblin horde by challenging their king to a fight for the right to attack and pillage. Flet generously offered to fight unarmed and unarmoured against the goblin king who could wield any weapon. The horde lost their king in whirlwind of attacks from Flet and left the hamlet unharmed.

Lord Aquila (Human Paladin of Tyllar)

Lord Aquila was the first Holy Commander of the Keepers of Zenegral. His calling to serve Tyllar had begun many years earlier when he still lived with his noble family. Lord Aquila left his home in Athkalta village and travelled north to the city of Zenegral where he found his faith was honed by many of the holy men and women in service of Tyllar.

With the establishment of the Holy City, came the need for the establishment of a force to defend it. Lord Aquila was the first candidate put forward by the priests of Tyllar to lead the group. His prowess with a halberd was legendary, defeated a black dragon that was terrorising the Tulan River Valley single handedly, and his judgment and wisdom was god like. Lord Aquila was never known to be rash or temperamental.

After leading the Keepers for some 7 years - Aquila was killed by a lich lord (Messowah) which has summoned an undead horde to attack Zenegral. He was struck squarely in the chest with a lightning bolt of such power that it burned a hole right through his chest.

April Grace (Human Cleric of Telmara)

April Grace was the second to Holy Commander of the Keepers of Zenegral. Her style was vastly different to that of her predecessor, Lord Aquila. His prowess in battle and his dedication to uncompromising justice saw were seen to be his strengths. However April was a diplomat and a healer beyond compare.

She came to the position of Holy Commander at the age of 52. With her she brought a vast experience of interpreting the will of the gods. Within weeks of her appointment April made it a priority to visit the city of Chail Anden and establish a strong working relationship with the Commander of the Kings Royal Lancers. Months later a trip was made to city of Tyran to establish an alliance of sort with the Order of the Light.

April died of natural causes at the age of 84, leading the Keepers until that day. On her death bed she expressed the deepest regret was her inability to heal the relationship with the Order of the Emerald Flame.

Shalverice Beyomonce (Elven Fighter of Cerestra)

Shalverice was a woman with a purpose. Under the leadership of Holy Commander April Grace, Shalverice took charge of the military operations of the Keepers. A master tactician, Shalverice showed incredible bravery to always lead her army into battle from the front lines. Her skill on horseback was complemented by her ability with her weapon of choice, the morning star.

Shalverice shall be most remembered for her efforts in leading the Keepers to victory outside Northern Chail in the Battle of Long Days. A massed army of orcs had begun to lay siege to Chail Anden and was trying to break the gates in the north of the city. The Lancers, unable to continue the battle alone sent word north to Zenegral. The Holy Commander immediately dispatched a mobile force of riders who came riding out of the north sounding their horns. The Lancers hearing the coming Keepers, charged out of the gates, and between them and the Keepers, the orcish army was routed. It is said that Shalverice was at the head of the charge and slew 65 orcs that day, including the chieftain who lead the army.

Burt Ironmonger (Human Paladin of Tyllar)

Burt Ironmonger was never a leader of the Keepers of Zenegral, but will always be remembered. Little is known of his life however this is what is recalled.

He joined the Keepers as a young man. Always, full of a sense of adventure it is said. However on the day he turned 20 Burt's life would be changed forever. In the midst of a routine patrol north of Zenegral Burt was dispatched to investigate a reflected light coming from the rocky slopes. While climbing up the slopes, he slipped and fell headlong down a ravine. His companions are said to have looked for his body but it was never found.

Legend has it that Burt never hit the ground. Tyllar himself is said to have saved him from the impact and taken him to a place high in the mountains in the frozen north. He is said to have stood before Tyllar who looked into his heart and seen courage and a desire to do good that none have ever possessed. Tyllar, it is said, granted him one more day on Caenyr before taking him from the mortal world. And on that day he would have to fulfil one more task for his God - slay the mighty lich lord Messowah.

It is told that Burt then awoke lying on the rocks north of Zenegral. From his vantage point he could look down upon the city, and he saw that it was burning. Laying beside him on the rock was a blade, a blade of godly make, free of imperfection, and on the hilt was inscribed the word, Calluviel - "Pure Blade" in the ancient tongues of the north.

Burt took the blade and began to walk toward the city, instinctively knowing that was where his opponent was. He soon realised though that the walk though was more than one days journey. He turned his eyes to the heavens wondering what impossible task Tyllar had set for him when a winged horse descended out o the sun light and stood before him. Burt mounted it and it carried him through the clouds to the city.

Burt spied the Lich Lord razing the city and saw that his brothers and sisters in the Keepers were unable to stop the fiend and its summoned denizens. He swung the horse into a steep dive and catching the Lich by surprise pierced its dark heart. The strike left the blade embedded in the Lich and knocked Burt from his steed. Messowah was immediately engulfed in a blue flame and incinerated to dust. The blade too was lost.

Burt was found lying at the steps to the temple of Tyllar - his life force extinguished in the throws of his last heroic act.
