Ok um Hi. My most important and relevant question is: Is this place close to HCR or do you de-lvl on death?

Hi! And don't worry, death is a sort of non-event here, as far as mechanics goes. You loose 1000 exp (unless that would de-level you) and the gold you carry (which can be safely stored at any bank), but no de-leveling, no magical gems you have to collect to respawn, no strings attached. Just walk though the gates of life when you reach the netherworld, and you'll be at a temple (deity's or kingdom's, you choose upon leaving)

And, of course, don't respawn and immediately attack the PC that killed you, or camp a temple spawn.

Yes there is no permadeath unless you want to and you can choose that in the netherworld. Read the basic forums on races and god and bio requirements.

Do not be afraid to ask questions.

Welcome.

Welcome to Caenyr :)

Daydreamer is correct in that the mechanical penalties for death are not harsh, loss of gold and some exp and you respawn in a safe place that may be far from where you died.

However RPwise death ought to have some huge significance and you will find people showing that in a variety of ways from weakness, to shock to fear and so on.
